Witam Was wszystkich!

Ostatnio popodróżowaliśmy trochę po Stambule. Dla odmiany zmieńmy lokalizację i przenieśmy się na północny wschód kraju, do pięknego regionu Morza Czarnego. Zgodnie z Waszymi wcześniejszymi prośbami – zapraszam do Rize i okolic!

Welcome everyone!

Recently we spent some time travelling around Istanbul. Let`s change our surroundings a little bit and move to the northeast region of the country, to a beautiful coast of the Black Sea. Just as you requested – welcome to the Rize area!

Zacznijmy od największego z miast, które dzisiaj opiszę. Trabzon – miasto z niesamowitym lotniskiem posiadającym  pas startowy położonym bezpośrednio nad Morzem Czarnym! Trabzon raczej nie jest miastem turystycznym – za to może się pochwalić największym portem Morza Czarnego.

Let`s begin with the biggest city of the today`s post. Trabzon – a city with an amazing airport and airstrip placed just next to the Black Sea! Trabzon is not a touristic city, but it has the biggest port on the Black Sea.

Główną atrakcją turystyczną Trabzon jest Muzeum Hagia Sofia – nie mylcie jej z imiennikiem w Stambule. Zbudowana w XIII wieku Hagia Sofia pierwotnie służyła jako kościół, przez krótki okres czasu była meczetem a obecnie znajduje się w niej muzeum. Na terenie muzeum znajdziemy też Müze Çay Bahçesi – Ogród Herbaciany, gdzie możemy rozkoszować się naszą herbatą w otoczeniu zieleni i kwiatów.

The main tourist attraction in Trabzon is the Hagia Sophia Museum – not to be mistaken with the one in Istanbul. Built in XIII century Hagia Sophia was originally a church, then served as a mosque for a short period of time before it was turned into a museum. On the Museum's grounds we can also find Müze Çay Bahçesi – Tea Garden, where we can enjoy our tea being surrounded by greenery and flowers.

Przenieśmy się 80 kilometrów na wschód. Rize – turecka stolica herbaty! Co rzuca nam się w oczy to otaczająca nas z każdej strony zieleń. Teren jest zdecydowanie górzysty, a prawie każde wzniesienie porośnięte jest... herbatą!

Let`s move 80 kilometres to the east. Rize – the Turkish capital of tea! Green color is everywhere we look. The area is definitely mountainous, and almost every hill is covered with… tea!

Herbata jest głęboko wpisana w kulturę tego miasta.  Znajdują się tutaj główne fabryki herbaty – Çaykür oraz Lipton. Dystrybucja herbaty obejmuje całą Turcję, a nawet inne kraje! Fabryki wytwarzają zarówno czarną jak i zieloną herbatę – różnica tkwi w procesie oksydacji. Produkowana jest również biała herbata sprzedawana w zawrotnych cenach 80 lir za 20 gramów herbaty – 4000 lir za kilogram!

Tea is deeply written in the culture of this city. It`s the place of main tea factories – Çaykür and Lipton. The distribution network is spread across the whole Turkey, as well as some other countries! Factories produce both black and green tea – oxidation process is the one making a difference. Also white tea is produced and sold for extremely high prices of 80 TL for 20 grams of tea, which makes 4000 TL for 1 kilogram!

Gdzie się nie obejrzymy, z każdej strony spoglądają na nas plantacje herbaty. Porasta ona wszystkie wzgórza, otacza prawie każdy dom. W końcu stanowi główne źródło utrzymania większości mieszkańców! Zbiór herbaty następuje zwykle pod koniec maja, gdy herbata zmienia kolor z zielonego na żółtawy. Do zbioru wykorzystuje się specjalne nożyce połączone z workiem na zebrane liście.

Wherever we look, tea plantations can be seen. Tea grows on every hill, surrounds almost every house. It is the main source of money for most people here! Collection of tea starts at the end of May, when tea changes color from green to yellowish. Special scissors attached to a bag are used for collecting tea leaves.

Będąc w Rize dużą stratą byłoby nieodwiedzenie cudownej restauracji położonej na szczycie wysokiego wzgórza. Restauracja nosi nazwę Dağmaran i widok z niej rozchodzi się na całe Rize, łącznie z wybrzeżem!

While in Rize it would be a huge waste not to visit a beautiful restaurant placed on the top of the mountain. The view from Dağmaran restaurant includes the whole of Rize and the coast!

Kolejnym wartym odwiedzenia miejscem jest Rize Ziraat Botanik Çay Bahçesi. Piękny widok, którym możemy się rozkoszować popijając herbatkę przy szumie drzew!

Another place worth visiting is Rize Ziraat Botanik Çay Bahçesi. We can enjoy a beautiful view while drinking our tea and listening to the rustling of leaves in the trees!

Teraz przenieśmy się się trochę na południe, do Ayder. Jednak zanim dojedziemy na miejsce nie zapomnijmy wyjrzeć za okno! Biegnący wzdłuż ulicy strumień przecięty jest pięknymi mostami w stylu Otomańskim, bardzo przypominającymi most w Mostarze, Bośni.

Now let`s move a little to the south, to Ayder. But, before we get there, don`t forget to look out of the window! A river, running parallel to the road is crossed with beautiful bridges, very similar to the one in Mostar, Bosnia.

Następnie przenosimy się do Ayder. Miejsca tego typu Turcy określają jako yayla, czyli miejsce wypoczynku położone w górach. Miejsce to charakteryzuje się zielenią oraz pięknymi wodospadami. Z racji położenia wysoko w górach jest tam również dużo zimniej niż w położonym na wybrzeżu Rize.

Now we arrive in Ayder. Places like this are called by Turks as yayla, which means a place to rest in the mountains. Ayder is known for its greenness and wonderful waterfalls. Due to its location high in the mountains it is also much colder than in Rize.

Kolejną atrakcją jest położona o 70 kilometrów od Rize miejscowość Uzungöl. Główną atrakcją jest tutaj długie jezioro, na końcu którego znajduje się meczet.

The village of Uzungöl is another tourist attraction placed just 70 kilometres from Rize. It`s mostly known for its long lake, at the end of which there is a mosque.

Znanym miejscem jest Monaster Sumela położony o 50 kilometrów od Trabzon. Zbudowany w skale na wysokości około 1200 metrów służył jako męski klasztor aż do roku 1923. Przedmiotem kultu była uznawana za cudotwórczą ikona Matki Bożej.

A very well-known place is the Sumela Monastery placed 50 kilometres from Trabzon. Built in the rock at the altitude of 1200 meters it was used as a male monastery till the year of 1923. It was famous for an icon of Virgin Mary, which was believed to be miraculous.

Wstęp kosztuje 15 TL (około 25 zł). Godziny wstępu przedstawione są na stronie muzeum. Karta Muzealna uprawnia nas do 2 wstępów rocznie, natomiast Karta Muzealna + pozwala na nieograniczoną ilość wstępów (informacja na rok 2015).

The entrance fee is 15 TL. The opening hours are available on the museum's website . Museum Card allows us to visit this place 2 times a year, and Museum Card + allows unlimited admission to the museum for a 12 month period (information for year 2015).

Na koniec już wspomnę Wam o dwóch daniach, które koniecznie musicie spróbować odwiedzając region Trabzon i Rize. Mowa tutaj o Mıhlama, tureckiej odmianie fondue na bazie mąki kukurydzianej podawanej w miedzianym naczyniu. Niesamowite danie dla wszystkich zwolenników topionego sera!

In the end let me tell you about two dishes which you must try while visiting this area. First one is Mıhlama, Turkish version of fondue made of corn starch, served in a copper pot. An amazing dish for melted cheese lovers like me!

Kolejnym daniem jest ryba hamsi, czyli sardela. Podawana smażona, w dużych ilościach na talerzu jest przysmakiem charakterystycznym dla tego regionu!

Another dish is hamsi – anchovy. Served fried on a plate is characteristic for this region!

Turcja jest doprawdy magicznym krajem. Wystarczy obrać sobie cel, wszystko jedno gdzie, a każdy fragment kraju będzie miał nam coś do zaoferowania, miejsca, które nas zachwycą. Doceniajmy ten urok i piękno, nie zapominajmy o tym, że Turcja to nie tylko Stambuł, Antalya i Bodrum! A na dzisiaj już się z Wami żegnam – do usłyszenia Kochani!

Turkey is really a magical country. Just find any destination, no matter where, and every piece of country will have something for us to offer, places that will take our breath away. Let’s appreciate this charm and beauty, let`s not forget that there is much more to Turkey than Istanbul, Antalya and Bodrum! See you soon!
